MTN Scholarship 2024 Overview

Since its establishment in 2010, the MTN Scholarship Scheme has been an important programme for the MTN Foundation. This scholarship is open to qualifying undergraduate students at Nigerian public tertiary institutions.

The Scholarship, which was established in 2012, is intended for 200 and 300 level blind students pursuing any course of study at these schools. Annually, 300 students are offered N300,000 scholarships if they meet the requisite academic qualifications. Additionally, 60 blind students receive N200,000 scholarships per year until they graduate.

Eligibility Requirements for MTN Scholarship 2024

To qualify for the 2024 MTN Scholarship, please review the following criteria:

The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students studying in public tertiary institutions throughout Nigeria.
STEM students at public universities and institutions of education must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class higher credit).
STEM students at public polytechnics must have a CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) programme and have been accepted into the Higher National Diploma (HND) programme.
Direct entrance level STEM students must have a CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND programme and be admitted to a public university’s 300 level/3rd year.

MTN Scholarship For Blind Students (SBS)

Open to blind students at the 200 and 300 levels in Nigeria’s public tertiary institutions.
Only 300 level students are qualified for blind Law (a 5-year course).
Blind students in universities or colleges of education must have a CGPA of at least 2.5.
Blind students in public polytechnics must have a CGPA of at least 2.0 from the OND programme and have been admitted to the HND programme.

Special Consideration

The application is also accessible to the top ten JAMB candidates in 2023.

Scholarship: Benefits and Duration

Every year, at least 500 students receive scholarships totaling N300,000 apiece. This sum includes tuition, book allowances, and a living stipend for one academic year. In the first round, 500 scholarships were offered to second-year students in scientific and technology subjects at 44 federal and state-owned universities.
