About the DAAD PRIME Fellowship Programme.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is currently accepting applications for the 2024 PRIME Fellowship Programme. This programme, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is intended to help postdoctoral researchers by offering fully paid posts at German universities with the option of conducting research abroad.
Programme Highlights:
- Full funding: An annual salary of up to €80,000, which includes travel, lodging, and dependant expenses if they accompany the fellow for more than a month.
- Duration: An 18-month contract includes 12 months abroad and a 6-month reintegration period at a German university.
- Objective: Provide postdoctoral researchers with the necessary qualifications for a long-term career in science in Germany.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the DAAD PRIME Fellowship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic Qualifications: Candidates with above-average qualifications from any faculty are eligible.
- Nationality: Applicants with any nationality may apply.
- Career Intentions: Applicants who live abroad must plan to continue their research careers in Germany after the return phase.
- Employment Status: For the planned research project, applicants must not be under a permanent contract with the host institution.
- PhD Completion: Applications are accepted up to six years after completing your PhD, as long as it was done with distinction.

- Binding statement from the host university in Germany.
- Invitation letter from the German host.
- Detailed research proposal and schedule
