How to apply for presiding officer for the 2024 Edo and Ondo State Governorship Elections

The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria established the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Its principal function is to organise elections for various political positions throughout the country.

Requirement for Officer (PO) for 2024 Edo and Ondo State Governorship Elections

  • Undergraduate student in their penultimate year at a federal or state tertiary institution in Nigeria with proficiency in IT
  • Permanent staff member of a Ministry, Department, or Agency (MDA) holding an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) qualification or on Grade Level 07-10
  • Permanent staff member of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Grade Level 07 & 08
  • Former Corps member who completed service in 2021 or later (2022, 2023, or 2024)
  • Must not be affiliated with any political party
  • Must not have publicly endorsed any candidate or political party
  • Must be a resident of the selected state

Required Document for Officer (PO) for 2024 Edo and Ondo State Governorship Elections

  • A valid and functional email address
  • An active mobile phone number
  • A personal bank account number for payment purposes
  • A recent passport-sized photograph with a white background (file size not exceeding 5MB)
  • Contact information for two referees, including email addresses and phone numbers
  • A valid Staff ID number or Student ID number (as displayed on your identification card)
  • NYSC Call-up Number for former corps members (2018 and later)
  • NYSC Call-up Number for current corps members (2022)
  • A digital copy of your highest educational qualification in PDF format
  • A scanned copy of a valid means of identification (such as a driver’s license, passport, or national ID card) in JPG or JPEG format.
