Goal Criteria for RMIT Research Stipend Scholarship 2025

To qualify for the 2025 RMIT Research Stipend Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and have completed at least four years of full-time study in the discipline, including honours.
  • Obtain at least a 2.0 average for the credit load in the previous year.
  • Alternatively, present a Master’s degree completed with a research part that occupies not less than 25% of the full-year load for academic studies.
  • With regards to academic performance, RMIT will deem you to have the same academic standing as the completed years of study, work experience, research papers, and other research experience.
  • No prior completion of another graduate research programme at the same or a higher course level – for example, a Master by Research candidate should not have had a Master by Research or a PhD.
  • Not having completed a postgraduate research qualification in the previous six months unless they had an RMIT or Commonwealth-funded postgraduate research scholarship that was not cancelled, the payments for which have not commenced.

Benefits of the RMIT University Scholarship 2025

The scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • A $34,841 annual allowance (pro-rated for full-time study).
  • International students may also apply for the RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS) or the RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS).
  • An RTP Fee Offset scholarship shall be awarded to local students who are either citizens or permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand.
  • Students who receive RTP Fee Offset grants cannot be charged tuition fees while they are receiving the grant.
  • A 1,540 relocation payment to cover up to $515 for each adult and $255 for each child.
  • Includes but there not limited to, Paid Parental leave, Maternity leave, and sick days.
