The Mastercard scholarship at UWC is an international cooperation programme that aims to develop leaders for a better future. Education-wise, it enables the academically gifted, service-minded youth, especially those from Africa to further their education, which develops their leadership capacities. The programme offers to pay, fully supported opportunities to academics from South Africa and other African countries, aimed at undergraduate and master’s levels.

Requirements to Qualify for the Mastercard Scholarship in the Year 2025

For Undergraduate Applicants:

• Not be more than 26 years of age at the time of applying for a grant.
• Commutatively satisfy the University’s minimum admissions requirements concerning the academic year of application and for program-specific requirements, see www.uwc. ac. za/; Apply for academic admission in the year 2025.
• Get ready to enroll for full-time undergraduate studies in the January intakes of the year 2025.

In this case, you should provide evidence of social and economic challenges to attaining a university education.

For Master’s Degree Applicants:

• Meets all the university admission requirements and applies for academic admission in 2025.
• Expect to enrol for full-time master’s study in the month of January in the year 2025.
• Facilitate demonstrations of social and economic barriers to attaining university education.
Note: This scheme does not apply to persons who intend to proceed immediately to a second master’s degree.

Undergraduate Fields of Study:

• Arts and humanities classes are history, language, sociology, and women and gender studies.
• Economic and management science fields can be economics, informatics, and public administration.
• The Foundation Phase is the classes where mathematics and science subjects are taught.
• Natural Sciences are as follows, Biosciences, Computation sciences, Mathematical sciences, and Physical sciences.

Postgraduate Fields of Study:

• Social sciences and performing arts comprise applied language and linguistics, history, gender and sexuality, migration and society, and sociology of development.
